  • Lube groove for 9mm

I'm working on some different loads using heavier projectiles and noticed that HRBC do a 135fr 9mm without the lube groove. Can someone explain to me the benefit of having the lube groove vs not when it comes to hard cast coated lead projectiles?

Older technology, before coated projies required a wax/paraffin/grease type lube to mininmise leading. As such lube grooves are no longer necessary. Often the extra weight of not having a lube groove has advantages as well.

If they are the Hawkesbury River with the blue varnish on them. DONT SHOOT THEM. Well you can but they will foul up your barrel soooo bad.

I don't think they sell blue coated projectiles anymore.
    At least in 9mm.
Black, copper and silver are your choices. I've shot black and copper with no problems.
