  • 38 Super dies

I've been looking at buying a set of dies for 38 super and noticed that the lee dies are a lot cheeper then say the hornadys and the RCBS dies. Should I just buy the lee dies or is it worth spending the extra cash for the hornadys or RCBS? All the previous dies I have got have been hornadys and RCBS, havnt had exp with the lee dies so I wouldn't have a clue.

    Cheers.

I run Lee dies, never had an issue with them

Jason - I've made 25,000 38 super rounds through my set of Lee carbide dies and they are still good, and they were second hand when I got them!
Make sure you also get the Factory Crimp Die, so there will be 4 dies in the set. I think Lee sets are available with 3 or 4 dies. The FCD is great for ensuring your loaded rounds are round and straight AFTER you insert the projectile. Get's rid of any case bulges etc. and you'll get 100% pass rate when gauge checking your loaded rounds.
