  • Anyone do Paper Patch?

Been reading up on it in the Marlin Owners forum. Sounds a good way to prevent leading. Thinking of an H & R in 45/70, with light bullets out of deference to my fragile physique. Don't own one yet. Just thinking about it.

Old thread but yes, new member and just started paper patching a 45-70 Rolling Block long range target rifle.

If you want to learn a little about the "art" of paper jackets, you might like to track down a copy of 'The Paper Jacket' by Paul Matthews, published in 1991 by Wolfe Publishing. You can purchase direct from them. Check the Wolfe web site; they had a special offering of the full set of Matthews' books at a much reduced price. A great starting place if you want to venture into the "dark side" and black powder.
