  • How About Some Lee Enfields... Show Us Your Pics!

Here's a part of a portrait shot done a good while ago. I have to update my "family album" so I have some fresh pictures, in the meantime I'll stick a couple up I don't think have been around.

So, show us your favourite Lee Enfield pics

            Here's mine, including a 1914 Lithgow.
Not bad for less than a year of having a license and an interest in these firearms. Still so much I want though..

C C'mon Lithy, you get to the party late and only bring a poor cousin!

I will admit that I haven't posted a pic yet myself, I wonder where all my photo's went from the old forum.

Enough to make a man like me green with envy!
On a side note, I really do need to get myself a No 5.

              Here's mine,
1917 BSA SHT LE, all matching numbers, Pretty good nick but filthy...
I was luck enough to be in my LGS when this was brought in from a deceased estate, not normally my thing but I just had to have it for some reason. I only picked it up last Friday so I haven't had a chance to clean it up much yet...

            Looks real good, GD! Congrats!

Take care how you go about cleaning it up, mate. One swipe of the wrong thing on the woodwork and it's value drops by the second.

There are a few different ideas on how to clean grime out of your furniture. Personally I have used a clean cloth with a splash of metho. Very quickly swipe it on and then swipe it off with a clean dry cloth. Don't let it soak at all, it will carry the grime into the wood. Use a clean dry cloth every time otherwise you just put the crud back. After you get the grime off, let it sit for a bit then apply some fresh coats of boiled linseed oil to put back any that the metho stripped out.

Anyone else with a method for cleaning the grubby ones, let's hear it...

Thanks Techsupport, I was going to leave the timber alone and just clean out the action and barrel.
I think the grubby timber gives it character....
As as side note anyone know what this enfield is worth, not looking to sell, just interested...
