  • (VIC) Nominate your club or club staff for 2013 Community Sport and Recreation Awards

Got the message on the SSAA VIC mailing list but its probably better for a more regular range goer than myself to do this. Regardless ofthe anti-gun sentiments of some members of the public, we need to keep pushing our clubs and ranges as sporting facilities as deserving of recognition as any football or tennis club and not pretend to be criminals.

' · Do you know of someone who has dedicated significant time and effort

to improving local sport and active recreation that you would like to

    see rewarded?

    · Has your club, team or organisation made a real difference to

encouraging greater participation across the whole community?

    · Is your club significantly better off as a result of the contribution

    of a committed volunteer?

    · Has anyone you know performed an extraordinary act or acts that

embody the true spirit of sport?

If so, then don’t miss out on the opportunity to honour their service by nominating them for the Victorian Government’s 2013 Community Sport and Recreation Awards.

All Victorians are encouraged to nominate a club, team, organisational or individual who have made a significant contribution to community sport and active recreation across the following seven categories:

    · Community Sporting Club of the Year

    · Outdoor Active Recreation Initiative Award

    · Young Volunteer of the Year

    · Service to Sport and Active Recreation Award

    · Welcoming and Inclusive Award

    · Community Coach, Administrator, Referee or Official of the Year

    · Innovation in Facility Design Award

You can nominate your own organisation, a club, team, group, third party or even yourself.

In addition to the seven awards, the Minister for Sport and Recreation will present a special Minister’s Award. Nominations received across all award categories will also be considered for the Minister’s Award.
