A brief update from today's efforts.... I made up some bronze and cast the guard, drilled and fitted (That was a shittier job than anticipated)...

I have been tossing up between wood or antler handles but popped on some antler and really like the look...

Its far from finished, disassemble and fix the fit, start polishing tomorrow - Fingers crossed I don't break anything

My new friend turned up yesterday and most have probably seen a Puma handle but I thought it worth posting some pics 1) to show it off and 2) cause its a different spin on antler handle style.

Ernk, what about taking some photos of your bronze casting etc and posting up? I'd love to see how you do it.

And the finished product... Mind you there is a lot of filing, sanding and finishing left out All hand made, no power tools at all.

The casting turned out great Ernk, come a long way from those first pores.
Don't think I seen the end result.

The antler handle should end up a nice knife when all done.

I like how the trade is more of an art than the precise measurement stuff of my trade.
Learning how to use the shape from the pics posted here.

I will start small and in the end make handles shaped a bit like Dans Puma with no rivets or just 2 cleaner flat types.

                              All great stuff guys.
