Yep for sure. I had a similar experience many years ago, not a beast like that or about paying big dollars.
Happened to be in the Territory and was able to go shoot a buffalo with one of the pro shooters. Assuming that I would get a chance to shoot a buff. Had the "where to shoot them" explained, when the chance came it was just like that. To stuff it up in front of the pro, a horrendous thought, and I might have been told that I was not there to waste his time, after all he was there to earn his living.
Fortunately all went well and did the shooting for the rest of the trip, 19 in all and all one shot kills and with a 270W.
They are NO harder to kill than domestic cattle in our back paddock. Sorry to all the "big game hunters with their 375 H&H and 458 Win mags" etc that need 4 shots to kill one.

Good to hear proshooter, I was wondering as the bow hunters take them fine with good shot placement and the range is normally close.
I am not into those huge magnum cartridges that will cost $10 to shoot after the next few price rises.
An old hunter told me that a .270 is all you need and he took one to Africa a couple of times.
Another interesting round for big stuff at normal ranges would be that 9.3x64mm or whatever it is, sort of the opposite approach.

Not going to burn the barrel out so that doesn't matter but I haven't shot either as yet, keen to try both though.

A 270W is more versatile than a lot would think. The buffs were all head shot front or side on, with believe it or not, only 150g Hornady soft points. Just had to hit them exactly where I was told.

          For Herne's kingfisher.
Look around for termite nests up in trees, they hollow out the nest to build there nests.
Ours just left the nest in the last week or so.

          Cheers

Those are all screen shots of unedited raw files, they look a bit dull at the moment.

Australia in future, the outcome is the same, a bloody dictatorship run on the whims of a very few ego-centric pathological elitists.
