  • Do pistol trigger Jobs require new parts

    Hi all

Was wondering, I have a xdm 5.25 that i would like to get a trigger job done to, in the states there are plenty of fantastic drop in trigger kits that people swear by.
However in sad old aussie land, drop in triggers dont exist and due to a combination of bad luck on my part, im unable to get one currently sent to me.

So do smith's actually just modify existing trigger parts to lighten the pull weight, and shorten pre-travel or do smith's require specialised parts specific to the firearm to do that job.

    thanks in advance

Just get one from brownells, they will ship to australia.

Their is a step by step procedure in the handgun section of how to import parts from USA legally

I found these on Brownells quickly

    Good luck

yes thats correct, however one of the 2 is discontinued and the other isnt on the export list last i checked.

Also that import guide was in handgun section on the old forum, it doesnt appear to be on this one yet to check against

Pretty sure I remember reading Paul at PBA Imports got hold of a Powder River kit for someone a while ago. Give him a ring and see what he has.

EDIT: Sorry, saw that's the discontinued one. He may still be able to source one for you though,

Thanks m8, however that person was me and it never happened, 4 months of chasing up with never a call back and several excuses later finalized by a made up reason to not bother in the end, left me with a sour taste in my mouth from the whole experiance. The details of which are probably best left out of a public forum.

Lets just say i suspect it was put in the "to hard basket"

          Hence my original post

P.S the trigger isnt discontinued just not sold at brownells anymore, i wish i had known months ago that brownells could export, but no point crying over spilled milk.

          Regards
